The Alamo in San Antonio
For over 300 years, The Alamo has been at the crossroads of history. Serving as the San Antonio de Valero, a Spanish Mission in the early 1700s, the Alamo served a crucial role in the settlement of San Antonio and Southwest Texas. For 13 days in 1836, nearly 200 Texans held the Alamo over from over 1,000 Mexican troops. Today, the historic mission commemorates those who died in the Battle of the Alamo. At the Centennial Museum behind the church, visitors can watch an accurate depiction of the famous battle in the IMAX movie theater.Details
